about me

My name is Suzie Mariano, I am the sole owner and operator of the skin care studio. I am a California licensed Esthetician since 2001, am a Certified Eyelash Extension Specialist, am a PCA Skin Certified Peel Specialist, hold a Certificate for Massage Therapy, am a Reiki II practitioner and hold numerous certificates for various product lines, treatments, therapies and modalities.

I have worked in all types of atmospheres from privately owned studios to big resort spas, MedSpas and even Plastic Surgeons' offices. Having worked closely with doctors, surgeons and nurses, I was able to learn, assist and apply medical treatments including medical grade peels, laser treatments and assisting surgeries. I am so grateful and have learned and experienced so much on my professional journey, now I'm in my own studio and I couldn't be happier!

My skin story:

Right before I turned 30, I started noticing brown spots all over my face. Having pretty good skin until then, I never thought too much about skin care products let alone sunscreen. Because of this my skin had issues and all the outdoor fun I'd had in my life started showing up on my skin in the form of hyperpigmentation. Everywhere.

My experience trying to fix my skin problems ultimately made my skin worse. I went to a few Dermatologists and Estheticians, was sold very expensive products and treatment packages but was never educated as to what was going on with my skin, why I was buying the products I was buying and most important - the importance of sunscreen.

I spent a lot of money and, as I said, my skin ended up worse. Not because of the treatments and products but because of the lack of education on the part of everyone I went to for help. Had I understood what ingredients I was using and what they were doing to my skin along with the treatments received, I would have taken precautions such as not going wakeboarding 25 minutes after getting (really strong) microdermabrasion treatments while on Retin A and Hydroquinone and other lighteners.

Frustrated and hyperpigmented to the point where I didn't like going in public because of people staring, a lightbulb went off and I found my passion. My passion is skin care. I wanted to help people. I knew that I could help people with their concerns with integrity. I enrolled in Esthetician school, got a job as an apprentice and ultimately graduated on the Honor Roll. I keep my education current by taking advanced classes monthly on health, wellness and everything esthetics including ingredients and techniques ensuring my clients receive the best and most current treatment(s) available.

Ingredients are very important to me. Where they come from, how they work and what they are doing (in the deeper layers of the skin) help determine the results you are going to see. However, they will only work if you use them consistently and as directed. If you are using the wrong products or the ingredients are mostly fillers, petroleum products, synthetic colors and/or fragrances, you are probably doing more damage than good. In my studio I proudly use high grade, paraben free products with no added scents, colors, or fillers, that are not tested on animals and are all made in the U.S.A.

Educating my clients is also important to me. If you don't know what you're doing or why, chances are you aren't going to follow-through and you're for sure not going to see good results or resolve your issues. I feel you are seeking professional skin care advice and that is exactly what you will get with me. Honest, relaxing, results driven skin care is what I provide at the skin care studio. I will not waste your time or money by selling you any treatment(s) or product(s) you do not need. That does not help your skin, which means I have not done my job. I take great pride in what I do and strive to be the best Esthetician I can be.

Thank you so much for looking at my webpage! I look very forward to seeing you at the studio and working with you to reach your skin care goals.
